The Project “My First Million” - responding to the nowadays challenges

Today, the implementation of the new paradigm in educational activity: “Integration of education, science and entrepreneurship” is relevant.

Such changes were proposed in existing training programs in disciplines "Construction and architectural physics" at our academy. Along with the requirements of training (computational and graphic works) and research (reports), entrepreneurial ones were tested (turning an idea into a business niche - developing a concept of a business niche related to construction, architectural physics and construction and architecture). Students conducted useful work on projects that could be commercialized.

The Youth Success Workshop (YSW) at IIDO plans to launch the project "My First Million", according to which a number of students and student teams will have the opportunity to learn how to conduct business processes and realize their ideas. YSW is designed to become a center for involving students with scientific, technological and entrepreneurial competencies in the innovation ecosystem. Expected results - expanding the reach of our youth, increasing their independence, increasing the possibilities of choice associated with improving the competencies that they will master by participating in innovative projects.

At the preliminary stage, a number of team applications were considered and prizes awarded, which were awarded by our graduates - partners of the Physics in Architecture and Construction club.

The prize of 30,000 was received by 2 teams of 3-year students:

1) Hares Guzel, Rudenko Anastasia, Nogteva Violet (Arch-17-6)

2) Onalkhan Ayaulym, Baglanbekova Kuralay, Zhuman Aisara, Yesentaeva Aruzhan (Arch-17-5)

Prize 20 000 tenge received 2 teams:

1) Edilbayev Kasim, Baltabay Ayimkhan, Urazmanbetova Madina, Zhagor Kobylandy (RPZS-17-11)

2) Sartaev Manas. Siran Sanjar, Ongarbayev Adilet, Kenes Madiyar, Kabenov Didar (Arch-17-6)

In the near future, we will implement practical trainings and related specialized programs for all interested students of our city in the IOC business incubator. Youth Business Incubator (YBI) will contribute to the adaptation of student youth in the real labor market, increase competitiveness in future professional activities.

So far, we have to become partners with a student who will clearly present his goal and purpose of activity in this practice-oriented process, which will be able to actively realize its potential, take responsibility for itself and find a worthy place in the modern labor market.

We hope that soon, at our academy, small innovative enterprises will be developed that contribute to the development of both our university and the economy of Kazakhstan as a whole.

The results of the republican contest "Innovative concepts for improving the microclimate and technology to reduce energy consumption", organized by the Club of the DGED "Physics in Architecture and Construction", have been summed up.

A creative approach, interesting architectural and technical solutions were presented by the contest participants in projects on the topic of the next stage, “Reconstruction of the KazGASA educational building using the concept of a comfortable building”. In the photo below - the proposed views of the facade of the academic building and cafe "Academy":

It should be noted the persistence with which the participants comprehended the requirements for designing multi-comfortable houses, that no one repeated and offered new approaches to modernizing the building, and most importantly, how much they learned and learned a lot.

The participants showed skills in applying the obtained theoretical knowledge not only in construction and architectural physics, climatology, architecture, building materials and all disciplines, the study of which is necessary for competent design, but also in social and humanitarian disciplines that instill a sense of ownership and the value of the place, which we call native walls.

The winners said that the competitors were motivated to participate because they were consulted by our graduates with practical experience. For example: in heat protection - the chief architect of the PA KazGOR projects Fedyanin Anton, in acoustics - the director of the company YESSET Aimagambetova Saltanat. They  were our co-organizers and speakers during the business games “Thermal Modernization of Buildings” and “Acoustics of Multipurpose Halls”.

The evaluation of the projects by the members of the expert Council of professors FA Isabaev G.A. and FD Nurkusheva L.T. was very useful in terms of architectural and energy-saving solutions.

Experience shows that graduates who actively participated in scientific olympiads and competitions, as a rule, achieve great success on the career ladder. We hope that contests can be called a step to success, because students received an impetus for self-development and will continue to actively use the opportunities of constantly expanding their space, which will smoothly transition into lifelong education.
