ACADEMIC PROGRAMS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE IN ALMATY


The department prepares specialists in the specialty 5B042000 - "Architecture" in the following specialties:
“Architecture of residential and public buildings” - a comprehensive training in the design of building structures, including both architectural and artistic aspects, as well as engineering issues. Academic program is intended for training of highly qualified architects demanded by local and international labor markets in the direction “Architecture of residential and public buildings”. Disciplines of AP allow graduates to obtain necessary professional competencies, knowledge and practical skills to perform labor functions in the field of architecture and construction in accordance with qualifications framework of a specialist architect in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The training process is focused on formation of a responsible, moral, creative specialist, capable of making innovative decisions and creating a comfortable, high-tech, harmonious material environment for people.
"Urban planning" - training in the field of designing objects, including idea of ​​integrated urban planning for organization, development of territories and settlements or their parts.
 

In October 2007, a commission of the International Union of Architects (ISA) -UNESCO worked at the Departmnent of Architecture under chairmanship of President of Russian Academy of Architecture and Engineering Sciences, President of Moscow Architectural Institute (State Academy), Dr. arch., Professor A. Kudryavtsev. on international accreditation of specialty 050420- "Architecture" undergraduate.

On November 8, 2007, in Barcelona (Spain), at the ISA-UNESCO headquarters, at a meeting of commission KazGASA receive international accreditation for academic program of the specialty "Architecture", the first in Central Asia and throughout the Southeast Asian region.

In July 2011, the re-accreditation of academic program “Architecture” undergraduate was conducted RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) - ISA-UNESCO for the next 3 years.
1034 full-time students study at the department under "Bachelor's program", and 125 students in correspondence-attendance form of study, as well as 34 people in master's programs.

The educational process of the Department of Architecture uses modern computer graphics programs. Training is conducted in the state and Russian languages. A group for teaching in English have been formed since 2011-2012 academic year for first year students.
