At the Faculty of Architecture, a variety of events are held: meetings with famous figures of architecture, art and science, professional competitions, fairs, olympiads, balls, etc.
FA teachers have deep and strong international connections with universities and research organizations. Faculty and students take part in international workshops that take place throughout the year. So, at the international workshop Asian Rim, which was held in South Korea, Japan, students are invited to solve the architectural and urban planning problem of a specific area of the city. And while working in a workshop in Florence, students study the architectural monuments of the cradle of the European Renaissance.
Teachers of the faculty are developers of State standards for architectural education, experts in educational programs, research project managers, practicing architects. The FA professors actively participate in national and international conferences, seminars, competitions and round tables devoted to the problems of modern architecture.
Architects are people of a creative warehouse, and therefore there are no boundaries to their interests and activities. Students and teachers take an active part in the work of Hobby Clubs: lovers of books, music, mountains, do charity work and hold fairs selling their own products.
Student life at the faculty is full of various events. In autumn, students are involved in landscaping the city and the university. At the dedication to Students holiday, informal acceptance of freshmen into the ranks of future architects takes place. This is a striking event in which freshmen themselves and their older comrades take part.
Autumn is the time of our professional holiday - World Architecture Day, to which an exhibition of the best student works and meetings with famous architects of the country and the world are dedicated. In autumn, events such as Autumn Ball and Alumni Fair are also held.
In winter and spring, various events take place in the life of students, including the holiday “Valentine's Day”, the beauty contest “Miss KazGASA”, “Zhigit Sultany”, and the student’s sports day. “Nauryz” is celebrated in spring and a student review contest “Spring in KazGASA” is held. Students take an active part in the Republican Subject Olympiad and in the scientific conference (students' research work). Also in winter, an exhibition of photography and graphic works by students of the FA is traditionally held.
The spring semester ends on the solemn note of the inauguration of graduates. During the defenses, the state attestation commission selects the best graduation projects and master's theses that take part in competitions such as the Republican contest of graduation works, the International review competition in the framework of the International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia, the International Review Competition of the Interregional Public Organization assistance to architectural education (MOOCAO), the International professional competition for the best project of the National Association of Surveyors and Designers and the Russian Academy of Arts NOPRIZ and many others.
